On April 4 and 5, the Arizona Science Center will welcome adolescent science fair winners from across Arizona for the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair held at Sun Devil Stadium on Arizona State University’s Campus. Managed by Arizona Science Center, AzSEF brings together first-place science fair winners from public and private schools, homeschool, district, county and regional levels to compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and scholarships. Plus, the Grand Award winners in the Senior Division from the state-level fair will be selected to compete at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair on May 11-17 in Los Angeles.
This week, Arizona Science Center will host a total of 690 students to participate in AzSEF, with 144 students in the elementary division, 162 students in the junior division and 383 students in the senior division. There will be a showcase with over 500 science projects and 140 schools – including 58 Title I schools – featured throughout the fair. On Saturday, April 6 an official award ceremony will be held at Arizona Science Center for all participants and their families.
The mission of the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF) is to support and provide guidance to students and teachers throughout Arizona to ensure the continued availability and vitality of this statewide celebration of scientific inquiry for the citizens of Arizona.
