Want to see more recycling in your community but aren’t sure how to make it happen? Keep America Beautiful can help.
Keep America Beautiful is a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending littering, improving recycling, and beautifying America’s communities. The organization hosts a number of educational events and initiatives, including their upcoming annual Recycle-Bowl on October 16. The event is a great way for you and your school-aged child to learn about recycling and contribute to a more sustainable America.
Every year, students and teachers from around the country compete in the Recycle-Bowl for championships in School Division, Community Division, District Division, Waste Reduction and Food Scrap Collection. This year, the Recycle-Bowl has partnered with PepsiCo’s Recycle Rally program to ignite a passion for recycling in schools around the country. Recycle-Bowl participants can concurrently sign up for the Recycle Rally, which rewards schools for recycling beverage containers. Get your district schools involved today and help your kids become leaders in sustainability! Registration for the event is open until October 10th.
If you don’t have a connection to your local school, you can still participate in a recycling initiative. America Recycles Day takes place on and in the weeks leading up to November 15. This is the chance for businesses, community organizations, government entities, individuals and others to host an America Recycles Day-themed event. Get your company to join in America’s only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling. Keep America Beautiful provides guides for hosting events, activity ideas, downloadable posters and banners, media outreach tools, sample proclamations and more. All you need is a desire to focus awareness on recycling. It’s that easy!
If you already have a recycling program in your company or school, that’s great! Bring your efforts forward by taking the #BERECYCLED pledge. Simply promise to actively choose a recycled lifestyle now and in the future. Make the pledge at any Keep America Beautiful event or online at https://americarecyclesday.org/pledge/.
