Synthetic Grass Warehouse (SGW), a company located in Anaheim, California is taking the spotlight for water conservation. The company serves as a distribution center for synthetic grass as well as industry experts on the drought and alternative landscaping. They urge those in drought-stricken states who water their lawns to seek an alternative way to landscape their home.
According to SGW the average household uses 320 gallons of water each day, with more than half of those gallons being used for outdoor lawn care. More and more California residents are switching from natural grass to synthetic grass as a water saving solution. If even half of California residents switched to synthetic grass the state would save nearly 1.2 billion gallons daily.
SGW wants to educate the community on the drought and its severity. California alone needs 11 trillion gallons of water to be considered drought-free. Their goal is to see more synthetic grass lawns than natural grass lawns to ‘kick the drought.’
