LEGO Introduces A New, Plant-based Botanical Collection

A new collection of mindful, green LEGO models are now available to purchase everywhere. The LEGO® Botanical Collection includes a beautiful Flower Bouquet and a stunning Bonsai Tree. These plant models are sure to brighten up any home. And although many LEGO® sets are oriented for the younger ones, this set is specifically targeted to the adults.

“We’ve known that building LEGO is not just a great experience for kids, but also a great stress-reliever for adults,” says Nicolaas Johan Bernardo Vás, the Senior Designer at LEGO Group who is responsible for this set. “This has turned to be especially true over the last year, as we’ve seen more families building together to help them get through lockdown, and many adults building with LEGO bricks for the first time.”

Although both products are inspired by the breathtaking flora in our planet, each set has its own unique characteristics.

The LEGO® Flower Bouquet model, which is composed of over 700 pieces, contains snapdragons, daisies, poppies, roses, and asters. The bright and rich colorful pieces can be customized by each builder in order to fit their individual decorative needs. It is the perfect gift for any flower-lover.

The LEGO® Bonsai Tree is as calming as it is stunning. Made from near 900 different pieces, the set perfectly captures the art of bonsai. Additionally, the model can be adorned with either green leaves or soft pink cherry blossoms, depending on the season or the builder’s desires. Each model also comes with a rectangular pot and a slatted wood-effect stand.

“With LEGO® Botanical Collection, we wanted to provide a building experience that would help adults switch off and relax as they immerse themselves in creating these beautiful botanical builds,” says Vás. “To get creative with LEGO building is a great way for adults to engage in a mindful activity, and creating this Botanical Collection made sure they would also end up with beautiful, customizable décor pieces they would want to display proudly in their homes.”

Created with elements made from plant-based plastic produced with sustainably sourced sugar cane, these stunning sets are the perfect way to bring the wonder of nature into your home in an eco-friendly way.

These LEGO® sets are also great tools to help both the kids and adults destress. They offer the opportunity for playful entertainment, and they facilitate an environment centered on mindfulness. So whether the builder wants to take time to be creative and alter the model into a different form or simply admire it while listening to music, relaxation can be ensured.

With these new sets, LEGO is taking a huge step in ensuring the protection of our planet.

“We want to make a positive impact on the planet, creating a better place for our children to inherit,” says Vas. “Making our products out of more sustainable materials is part of this process. Our ambition is to make all of our products out of more sustainable sources by 2030, without compromising quality or safety.”
