Outdoor Desert Dining Experience

Desert Dining photo

By Michaela Puterbaugh

“Open fire, smoke, game birds all inspire me when thinking about cooking in the desert, there is something very primal and personal about cooking over an open flame under the stars, in the wide open.”

– Chef Stephen Jones

This Saturday, Chef Stephen Jones is making his dream a reality by teaming up with Arizona’s first wilderness and outdoor adventure dining company Cloth & Flame to host a dinner in the great Sonoran desert. Arizona natives and visitors alike who want to escape the commotion of their daily lives are invited to enjoy a chef-prepared meal in the open desert just outside the bustling streets of Phoenix.

Chef Jones, owner of the restaurant The Larder & The Delta located at DeSoto Central Market in downtown Phoenix, will make his debut preparing the first al fresco meal with an elevated Southern-inspired twist to start off Cloth and Flame’s Desert Dinners series of 2017.

The event will open with a variety of light appetizers followed by a 4-course meal consisting of local produce, quail, trout and legumes. As for drinks, there will be an abundance of wine pairings throughout the night and a craft cocktail demonstration.

Cloth & Flame will be providing transportation to and from the desert dining location and will also be donating 10 percent of all proceeds to the Sonoran Institute. What better way to help protect our deserts by absorbing their beauty over an amazing meal?

Cloth & Flame recommends you reserve your place ASAP as there are only 36 seats available. Tickets are $90.00 per person. To make your reservation and find more information, visit www.clothandflame.com
