The Future of Solar Power

By Molly Cerreta Smith

Last fall, Green Living attended the Solar Power International conference in Las Vegas to get a grasp on what’s really happening in the solar industry. And we weren’t the only ones.

More than 15,000 professionals and businesspeople from all aspects of the solar industry were in attendance, and more than 100 educational opportunities were offered at the conference along with hundreds of exhibitors. Nearly a quarter of those were international companies, representing 23 different countries.

For us, the conference solidified the fact that solar power is alive and well — and prospering. Despite controversy, the industry is going to continue to grow and improve over the years, ensuring a bright future for solar.

SPI’s 2015 event will take place in Anaheim, California, on September 14. At time of press, 275 exhibitors had already signed up to fill the more than 150,000 square feet of show floor space, making up 75 percent of the 2014 conference’s total.
