Letter from the Editor, Happy New Year

Happy New Year, and welcome to our first issue of 2019! For many of us, the new year is a catalyst for change —a time to slow down, take a few breaths, think about our wins and losses from the last 12 months, and resolve to make positive changes in the new year.

For me, one of those changes is a nostalgic return to Green Living. I was a writer and editor for this magazine between 2010 and 2014. I met some amazing people, learned a lot about sustainable furniture, wind energy, Arizona wineries, and ocean conservancy – just to name a few topics. That experience also fulfilled a long-held career goal and milestone of mine. Over the last few years, I’ve continued to focus on family and writing and editing, and am so excited to be back as an editor on the

to be entertaining and informative and, above all, useful, and you’ll find news, features and regular columns on a variety of health-related topics.

So many of us charge into the new year with well-intentioned goals about fitness, diet, slowing down, taking more time to reflect, and being better stewards of our environment. To keep you inspired out of the gates, we’ve included a wide range of stories and messages to fuel that passion. Our Kids’ Corner even features some New Year’s inspiration for kids, by kids!

Hear from Laura Madden how fashion pioneer Marci Zaroff, author of ECOrenaissance, is working to lead the charge and spread awareness about stylish, sexy, and sustainable fashion. Get some first-hand fitness advice from Tyler Hurst on keeping your new year’s fitness resolutions on track in
