Event Planning/Sales Consultant

We are serious about fun and so are our clients! Do you have what it takes to become an event planner and sales representative for Green Living magazine? If you’re passionate about sustainability, connecting with businesses to prosper growth, and acting as a team player, apply today.

This position requires sales skills as well as event planning skills. Our corporate clients expect us to provide creative and innovative planning, perfect event execution and be able to solve any problem quickly and efficiently. If this sounds like you, then please read on.

Our specialty is large networking events and promotions, but we are often called upon to provide a wide range of event services for our key clients.

Responsibilities:

As we say in the event business, you book it and cook it. Outbound/inbound sales calls, proposals, presentations, innovative planning, and complete start to finish management of sold events. Don’t worry, we have a dedicated support staff to assist you, but you are the lead person for your events.

Advertising Sales Position

We are seeking an Account Executive in advertising for our magazine. The Account Executive has responsibility for developing and maintaining partnerships with new and existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty by selling print & online advertising solutions on a continuing basis. This position will require you to be driven, self-motivated, goal-oriented with strong relationship building skills as you will be the primary link to our prospective and existing clients.

Duties include:
• Developing new sales leads to grow an existing market
• Maintains relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential advertising accounts
• Building relationships by performing sales calls, customer service call and site visits
• Present advertising options to generate new business
• Manage, service and support existing clients while generating additional new business

Required Experience:
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
• Must have a laptop and smartphone
• Must have 2-3 years of outside sales experience, media advertising preferred
• Must have cold calling experience both over the phone and in-person
• Must be entrepreneurial in spirit

Sales & Marketing Intern

If you are interested in getting involved in the publishing business, this is an excellent opportunity! Green Living magazine is accepting applications for interns to join the Sales & Marketing team. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn about advertising sales, marketing, and event planning. The right candidates will be organized, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and fluent with Microsoft Office. Prior database experience is helpful.

Graphic Design Intern

Photography Intern

Can you capture life through the lens? Can you tell stories through images? Green Living magazine is seeking talented, creative student photographers who will have a direct impact on the visual appeal of this publication. This unpaid internship offers an opportunity to build a portfolio and expand on photography and image-editing skills while exploring the world of sustainability and living green. Interns will be supervised by the Associate Editor and Creative Director and will work both independently and with writers on assignments.

Qualified applicants are students of photography who can provide samples of their work. They must have their own equipment, including a quality camera and access to Photoshop. Students must demonstrate a level of professionalism, organization, and adherence to deadline necessary for success in the publishing industry.

Other desired qualifications: self-motivation, ability to work with writers and design team, a basic understanding of sustainability and green lifestyle, ability to converse with subjects and accurately capture necessary information at photoshoots, ability to take direction and desire to improve.

Public Relations Intern

While the position is unpaid, it can count towards school credit and interns will walk away with bylines, a well-rounded understanding of pitching stories, an expanded network of contacts within both local and national media, and the opportunity to see how a print magazine (and it’s accompanying website) are managed on a day-to-day basis. • Gather content for beats in the magazine

Publisher’s Assistant Intern

Supports the Publisher of Green Living magazine by scheduling appointments, managing the Publisher’s calendar, conducting research, completing organization-based tasks, attending meetings and recording notes, reporting sales information, sales call prep/reporting, and other tasks as needed.

The Job:

  • Maintains CRM database by inputting new, potential clients and setting appointments.
  • Updates Publisher and sales team by consolidating, analyzing, and forwarding daily action summaries in CRM database
  • Manages Publisher’s calendar to include meetings and events and ensure no scheduling overlaps or difficulties.
  • Provides ad specification and pricing information by clarifying customer request; selecting appropriate information; forwarding information; answering questions.
  • Forwards media kits, editorial content, as relevant, and ad samples, as provided.
  • Maintains customer database by inputting customer profile and updates; preparing and distributing monthly reports.
  • Accomplishes department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
