Full Day for Kindergarten Could Mean Higher Literacy in Arizona

kindergertners2Last Tuesday, was a day that focused on all the kindergarteners of Arizona. The Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL) and the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) hosted Governor Doug Ducey and many other prominent figures from both the Arizona State Legislature and leaders in education at the PBS television studios. Speakers such as ASU President Dr. Michael Crow, Mesa Superintendent Dr. Michael Cowan, and Tolleson Superintendent Dr. Lupita Hightower shared The Power of K and how introducing kindergartners to a full school day would increase the literacy of Arizona.

For those that are interested there will be a State Board of Education meeting Monday, October 24th at 9:00 am at the:
