Jani-King Makes an Eco-Friendly Impact on the WM Phoenix Open

The 90th annual WM Phoenix Open is set to reclaim its title as “The Greatest Show on Grass” from February 3-9 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Renowned for its electric atmosphere, world-class greens, and unmatched people-watching, the tournament has rightfully earned its moniker, “The People’s Open.” This year, organizers are enhancing the fan experience with a renewed emphasis on safety and sustainability, and at the heart of these efforts is Jani-King Arizona, the trusted cleaning crew behind the event’s pristine reputation.

Managing over 1 million square feet of event space is no small feat, but Jani-King Arizona has risen to the challenge year after year. In 2024, the Jani-King team scrubbed 60,000 feet of hardwood flooring at the iconic 16th hole, kept 18 suites spotless, and coordinated a cleaning force that included 75-night crew members, 13-day porters, and nine team leaders. Armed with 8,000 feet of extension cords, 84 headlamps, and eco-friendly tools such as HEPA filter vacuums, the team demonstrated its ability to handle massive messes with precision — and they’re ready to do it all again in 2025.

Sustainability remains a cornerstone of Jani-King’s approach. The company’s HEPA filter vacuums deep clean surfaces while removing 99.97% of dust, mold, and bacteria, to improve air quality for attendees. Green-certified cleaning products, free of ozone-depleting volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensure the health and safety of event goers and the environment. In addition, Jani-King employs alternatives like hydrogen peroxide disinfectants to minimize harmful toxins while maintaining the highest sanitation standards.

“Ensuring clean air and a pristine environment isn’t just a goal — it’s a responsibility,” said Julie Robinson, President of Jani-King Arizona. “Our eco-first approach aligns perfectly with the Waste Management Phoenix Open’s commitment to sustainability.”

As a leader in green initiatives, the Phoenix Open sets the standard for environmentally responsible large-scale events. Jani-King’s innovative cleaning techniques and meticulous waste management practices further support these efforts, ensuring the tournament’s environmental impact is minimized without sacrificing its high-energy appeal.

Thanks to Jani-King Arizona’s expertise and dedication, this year’s tournament will once again be a shining example of how world-class events can seamlessly combine entertainment with eco-conscious practices.
