LOWE’S JOINS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY WITH FAMILY FRIENDLY POP-UP BUILD ON JULY 25 AT LOWE’S
Events to encourage communities to meet neighbors and celebrate Habitat’s impact through hands-on volunteerism
WHAT: As the dog days of summer approach, on July 25, Habitat for Humanity is
teaming up with Lowe’s to offer a hands-on, family-friendly pop-up celebration event
to celebrate both Habitat for Humanity’s 50th anniversary and the company’s more than
20-year partnership with the organization.
The events will include family-friendly activities that benefit Habitat’s mission.

Wall signing: Guests can sign and leave messages on 2×6 studs set on sawhorses. These signed studs will be used to frame walls in 20+ new Habitat home builds across the Valley.

Building module components: Habitat construction staff will guide adults in assembling door frames and headers. We’re planning a friendly challenge to see if we can complete enough components for one full home in a day.

Kids’ DIY zone: Children can paint and decorate nail bags and branded plastic hard hats with stickers to take home as souvenirs.
Tapping into the ‘analog summer’ trend, the events are designed encourage
participants to go screen free, connect with neighbors and learn new skills – while also
finding volunteer opportunities with Habitat for Humanity.
As an anniversary celebration, the events will include festive components like balloon
artists, sweet treats and food trucks. Lowe’s also worked with Habitat for Humanity to
compile an anniversary gift registry. The list is available online here. Tools can be
dropped off during the event or at Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona.

ABOUT/VISUALS: Family-friendly community service event featuring a wall-signing
station with 2×6 studs on sawhorses for guests to sign and leave messages – later used to
frame walls in 20+ new Habitat home builds; hands-on “building module” activities
where adults assemble door frames and headers with our construction crew, including
a friendly challenge to complete enough components for one home in a day; and a kids’

that directly support future Habitat home construction and repair programs in the
